Whey vs isolate: which one do you actually need?

Both come from milk. The difference is how much filtering happens, and that changes the protein per scoop, the lactose and the price.
What is whey concentrate?
Whey concentrate is the less filtered form. It keeps a little more fat and lactose, tastes creamy and usually costs less per kilo. For most people without a lactose issue, it does the job.
What is whey isolate?
Isolate goes through extra filtering, so more of each scoop is protein and very little is lactose. It mixes thinner and suits anyone who is sensitive to dairy or cutting carefully.
| Concentrate | Isolate | |
|---|---|---|
| Lactose | Some | Very little |
| Texture | Creamier | Thinner, mixes fast |
| Price | Lower | Higher |
The best protein is the one you take every day.
So which should you buy?
Start with concentrate if your stomach is fine with dairy and you want value. Pick isolate if dairy bloats you, you are cutting, or you want the most protein per scoop. Not sure? Ask us in store and try a sample.
